IDS-Hr2
Designed for laboratories seeking predictable turnaround times while minimizing operator exposure and manual handling, the IDS-Hr2 transforms urine processing into a controlled, traceable, and reproducible workflow.
With a compact footprint of just 1.46 m², the IDS-Hr2 delivers automated urine sample preparation for both chemistry and sediment analysis within a space-efficient workcell.
Based on test requirements, the system selects the appropriate secondary tube type, streamlining preparation while reducing pre-analytical bottlenecks and errors so samples can proceed directly to testing with greater efficiency and reliability.
Product availability, features, and configuration options may vary by region and can be tailored to meet local market needs and regulatory requirements.
1. Direct Cup Aliquoting
Aliquots urine directly from the patient collection cup, reducing manual handling and operator exposure.
2. Compact, Space-Efficient Design
Footprint of 1.46m² integrating sample reception to advanced sorting.
3. Test-Driven Tube Preparation
Prepares correct secondary tube type based on test requirements for chemistry or sediment analysis.
4. Improved Sample Processing
Standardized sample preparation with traceable, reproducible workflows.
01. Urine Cup Inlet/Outlet Extension
With the capacity extension, the module accommodates more collection cups and facilitates the streamlined handling of completed samples for downstream analysis.
✅ Detects insufficient urine volume and alerts operators right away.
2. Urine Cup Loading Area (Main)
- Urine Cup is Loaded.
- Barcode is read to confirm arrival.
- Detects insufficient urine volume and alerts operators right away.

3. Secondary Tube & Labeling
- Depending on the test ordered specified tubes are fed to the labeling area.
- Prints barcode label and applies to each aliquot tube.

4. Cup Transfer
Discharges error or completed samples* to extended unit (if available). and notifies the operator with a melody

*Completed samples are kept, depending on sample disposal instructions.
4. Aspirating and Aliquoting
Urine Sample from collection cup is aliquotted to either round bottom (for chemistry analysis) or conical-shaped (for sediment analysis) tubes, depending on test ordered.
- Features IDS unique aliquot tip with an aspirating volume of 22ml. Enabling multiple aliquots from a single draw, minimizing delays in processing time.
- New disposable aliquot tips are fed for every sample

07. Urine Cup Auto-Disposal Area (At the back of the Processor. Not visible)
Completed collection cups are disposed separately from urine sample.
Urine sample drained into an internal tank and cups are disposed separately.
08. Outlet (for aliquot tubes)
Unloading and sorting of aliquot tubes on respective personality racks

8. Disposable Pipette Tip Feeder
Loading new disposal tips as needed without interrupting system operations
10. Conical-Bottom Tube Feeder
The system also features a single pull-out drawer containing dual independent supply channels that allows simultaneous loading of two different conical-bottom tube types.

09. Touch-Screen Control Monitor
Intuitive User Interface which requires less time to learn how to operate.
Product design and specifications are subject to change without notice.
1. Urine Cup Inlet/Outlet Extension
- Automatically identifies samples with barcode errors or without associated test orders.
*This extension is provided separately and is not under standard module feature.
2. Main & STAT Urine Cup Loading Area
- Urine collection cup placed directly on loading plate
- Cup are scanned to confirm sample receipt and identification

3. Secondary Tube Preparation
Depending on the test ordered, the system prepares test specific secondary tubes
- Round-bottom tube for chemistry analysis
- Conical-shaped/Spitz tube for sediment analysis
- Prints and applies barcode labels on secondary tubes
4. Cup Transfer*
Error or completed samples* are transferred to extended unit (if available), and notifies the operator with a melody

*Completed samples are kept, depending on sample disposal instructions.
5. Aspirating and Aliquoting
Automated mixing maintains urine sample homogeneity prior to aliquoting, minimizing sedimentation and concentration variability. The system simultaneously verifies sample volume and flags insufficient volume errors. The sample is then dispensed into the appropriate aliquot tubes based on the test orders.
- Features IDS disposable aliquot tip with an aspirating volume of 22ml. Enabling multiple aliquots from a single draw, minimizing delays in processing time.
- Support round-bottom tube and conical-shaped (spitz) tube
6. Sample disposal
Urine sample drained into an internal tank and emptied cups are disposed separately.
7. Aliquot Tubes Racks
Completed secondary samples are removed from internal track and placed in dedicated sensored rack. The system supports third-party racks.
Pre-set configuration using IDS racks
- Configurable sorting of 10 × 10-tube racks.
- Sorting groups can be customized in increments of at least 5 samples.
- Urinalysis (Routine): 2 x 10-tube rack
- Urine Biochemistry: 2 x 10-tube rack
- Storage: 2 x 10-tube rack
- Send-out: 2 x 10-tube rack
Technicians can walk away to work on other priority task and are alerted visually if any specific rack or samples requires manual attention.
- Blue light – Racks are complete
- Blue Flickering light – Attention needed
8. Disposable Pipette Tip Feeder
Loading new disposal tips as needed without disrupting system operation.
9. Secondary Tube Feeder
The system features a single pull-out drawer containing dual independent supply channels that allows simultaneous loading of two different conical-bottom tube types.
10. Touch-Screen Control Panel
A system operating PC with intuitive operator interaction. Offers real-time views of system operation and rack sorting.
1. Urine Collection Cup is placed on the loading plate and barcode is read to confirm sample arrival.
2. Test-specific secondary tubes are prepared and labels traceable to primary sample are applied.
3. Urine samples is aspirated from the primary cup and dispensed using a 22 mL disposable tip.
4. After aliquoting, the primary cup exits the queue and the operator is notified.
5. Aliquoted tubes are sorted in respective analyzer racks.
6. IDS-CLAS X-1 track system can be integrated to enable fully automated transport to connected analyzers.
7. Residual urine and cups are discarded per laboratory instructions.
8. Optional unit enables automated cup loading or unloading.
